Club Rules

(as amended February 25, 1998)




  1. All members should support trail workdays.

  2. Yield to foot traffic and horses
    1. Friendliness through verbal contact goes a long way.
    2. Gain permission to pass on narrow trails.

  3. Avoid abusive riding habits.
    1. Don't shortcut trails.
    2. avoid excessive skidding, or wheel spinning.
    3. Don't ride over vegetation off the trail.
    4. Don't destroy erosion control natural or man made.

  4. Don't create new trails or start trail maintenance without clearing the project through The Greater Clemson Mountain Bikers Club and the Adaptive Management Group.

  5. Leave the wild as it is, wild.
    1. Don't feed animals or otherwise disturb vegetation (flowers and plants).
    2. Don't disturb animals or animal habitat.
    3. Keep pets under control.
    4. Don't litter! Pack it in, pack it out.

  6. Be Aware of hunting seasons and be courteous to hunters.

  7. Be prepared with water, tools, pump, etc.

  8. Let someone know where you'll be riding.

  9. Always wear a helmet!!

  10. Ride within you abilities.
